I grew up with various computers in the house (first a TRS-80, then a C64) and then moved to PCs later on. Much time was spent dealing with the relatively user-unfriendly world of I/O ports, IRQs, DMA channels, etc. Putting it another way, my first Microsoft product was MS-DOS 3.31.
After drifting away from my technical roots for a while, I got back up to speed on what I needed to know to get a job as a malware analyst. These days I do mostly malware analysis and RE, primarily for signature development. In my free time, I’m planning on getting into RE of some older platforms and architectures (such as the NES) and also looking into doing embedded stuff.
